RESUMO

Chinese medicinal materials (CMMs) are important strategic resource in China. The cultivation process of medicinal plants is the key link which directly affect the quality and efficacy. The literatures of CMMs cultivation were acquired from China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) database and State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) patent database for the years between 2001 and 2021. All the articles found were subjected to bibliometric analysis. The development trends and key topics were analyzed and visualized by VOSviewer and CiteSpace software. The results indicate that ecological planting, under-forest economy, intercropping patterns and industrialization production are the research hotspots in this field; cultivation technology and nutritional fertilization technology are the main areas addressed in recent years. Therefore, the high-quality and sustainable development of CMMs cultivation should be examined in terms of theoretical approaches, technical innovation, multi-cooperation, and intellectual property protection.

This study examined the levels of soluble CD146 (sCD146) in plasma samples from patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and assessed the relationship between sCD146 and the severity of COPD. A total of 97 COPD patients were recruited from 20 medical centers in Jiangsu, China, including 13 stable subjects and 84 exacerbated subjects. The plasma sCD146 level in exacerbated subjects (28.77 ± 10.80 ng/mL) was significantly lower than that in stable subjects (38.84 ± 15.00 ng/mL). In the high sCD146 group, the proportion of subjects with modified Medical Research Council (mMRC) scores of 0-1 was higher, the proportion of subjects with the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) stage 4 was lower, and the proportion of subjects with ≥1 hospitalizations in the past year was lower. The plasma sCD146 level was negatively correlated with the COPD Assessment Test (CAT) score (r = -0.2664, p = 0.0087). Logistic regression analysis showed that sCD146 was an independent risk factor for acute exacerbation of COPD (AECOPD). Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis suggested that sCD146 combined with sex, age, pulmonary function, and acute exacerbations in the past year had clinical value for the accurate identification of AECOPD, with an area under the ROC curve (AUC) of 0.908 (95% CI: 0.810-1.000, p < 0.001). In addition, there was a significant negative correlation between plasma sCD146 and S100A9 (r = -0.3939, p < 0.001).

To enhance the efficiency of photocatalytic H2 evolution, numerous methods are employed by increasing the utilization of photogenerated charge carriers (PCCs), including catalyst design, defect regulation, and selection of suitable H+ resources. Using self-assembly method, CoWO4/ZnxCd1-xS with p-n heterojunction was synthesized. Although CoWO4 (CW) cannot produce H2 under visible light irradiation, it can provide photogenerated electrons (e-) to Zn0.3Cd0.7S (ZCS), and largely increase the photocatalytic activity of ZCS. The optimal CW/ZCS composite can reach 15.58 mmol·g-1·h-1, which is 45.8 and 24.3 times higher than the values of the pure CdS and ZCS, respectively. The largely enhanced photocatalytic H2 production is attributed to the Zn vacancies (VZn), p-n heterojunction, and p-chlorobenzyl alcohol (Cl-PhCH2OH) as the H+ source of H2 production. VZn on the ZCS surface as the capture center of photogenerated holes (h+), can regulate the carrier distribution, which results in more photogenerated e- and less generated h+. The combination of p-n heterojunction and VZn can enhance the separation and transfer efficiency of PCCs, and effectively inhibit the recombination of charge carriers. To further improve the utilization rate of PCCs, the photocatalytic H2 evolution is proceeded by Cl-PhCH2OH oxidation in N,N-dimethylformamide solution, with 4-chlorobenzaldehyde (Cl-PhCHO) generated. The separated photogenerated e- and h+ both participated in the redox reaction of H+ reduction and Cl-PhCH2OH oxidation, considering that the amount of H2 and Cl-PhCHO products are close to 1:1. This work not only facilitates the separation and transfer of PCCs, but also provides directions for the design of efficient photocatalysts and H2 evolution in the organic phase.

Much evidence has accumulated to show that inflammation and nutritional status are associated with the prognosis of patients with various cancers. The present study was designed to explore the prognostic role of the LANR in NPC patients receiving definitive radiotherapy and to construct a nomogram for predicting patient survival. This study retrospectively reviewed 805 NPC patients (604 in the training cohort and 201 in the validation cohort) who received definitive radiotherapy between January 2013 and December 2019. The clinical data and pretreatment laboratory test data, including lymphocyte count, neutrophil count, and serum ALB concentration, were collected for all patients. The LANR was calculated as the albumin × lymphocyte/neutrophil ratio. Patients in the training cohort and validation cohort were categorized into high-LANR and low-LANR groups according to the corresponding cutoff values. The independent prognostic factors for overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), relapse-free survival (RFS), and metastasis-free survival (MFS) were evaluated by univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses, and a nomogram was subsequently constructed. The performance of the nomogram was evaluated by the concordance index (C-index) and calibration curve. A low LANR (< 14.3) was independently associated with worse OS, PFS and MFS in NPC patients. A prognostic prediction nomogram was established based on T stage, N stage, Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) score, treatment modality, and LANR and was validated. The C-indices of the nomograms for OS and PFS in the training cohort were 0.729 and 0.72, respectively. The C-indices of the nomograms for OS and PFS in the validation cohort were 0.694 and 0.695, respectively. The calibration curve revealed good consistency between the actual survival and the nomogram prediction. Patients with NPC with low pretreatment LANR had a poor prognosis. The nomogram established on the basis of the LANR was efficient and clinically useful for predicting survival in NPC patients who underwent definitive radiotherapy.

Traditional polybenzoxazine thermosets cannot be reprocessed or recycled due to the permanent crosslinked networks. The dynamic exchangeable characteristics of imine bonds can impart the networks with reprocessabilities and recyclabilities. This study reported a weldable, reprocessable, and water-resistant polybenzoxazine vitrimer (C-ABZ) crosslinked by dynamic imine bonds. It was synthesized through a condensation reaction between an aldehyde-containing benzoxazine oligomer (O-ABZ) and 1,12-dodecanediamine. The resulting C-ABZ was able to be welded and reprocessed due to the dynamic exchange of imine bonds. The tensile strengths of the welded C-ABZ and the reprocessed C-ABZ after three cycles of hot-pressing were 76.7, 81.3, 70.8, and 58.1 Mpa, with corresponding tensile strength recovery ratios of 74.1 %, 78.6 %, 68.4 %, and 56.1 %, respectively. Furthermore, the polybenzoxazine backbone significantly improved the water resistance of the imine bonds. After immersing in water for 30 days at room temperature, the weight gain of C-ABZ was less than 1 % with corresponding tensile strength and tensile strength retention ratio of 59.5 Mpa and 57.5 %, respectively. Although the heat resistance of C-ABZ decreased slightly with increased hot-pressing cycles, a glass transition temperature (Tg, tanδ) of 150 °C was retained after the third hot-pressing. Overall, these findings demonstrate that the C-ABZ possesses excellent comprehensive performances.

Background: Blood-based immune-inflammation indexes have been widely used to predict survival in a variety of cancers. In this research, we seeked to evaluate a novel immune-inflammation marker, named the pan-immune-inflammation value (PIV), in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) undergoing definitive radiotherapy. Methods: A group of 377 patients with NPC was retrospectived analyzed. Clinical data and laboratory data were collected. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was performed in order to determine the optimal PIV cut-off value. Survival curves were estimated by Kaplan-Meier method, and prognostic variables were identified using a Cox regression model. Additionally, we developed a nomogram and assessed its acuracy using the concordance index (C-index) and a calibration curve. Results: The optimal PIV cut-off value was 146.24 according to ROC analysis. High PIV was related to poorer Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group Performance Status (ECOG PS) score (p = 0.017), more advanced T (p<0.001) and clinical stages (p = 0.024). In univariate analysis, older Age, poorer ECOG PS, higher Epstein-Barr virus DNA (EBV-DNA), advanced T, N and clinical stage, and higher PIV levels were related to patients' poorer overall survival (OS). Poorer ECOG PS, higher EBV-DNA, later T stage, later clinical stage, and higher PIV were associated with patients' poorer progression free survival (PFS). Male sex and later T stage were associated with patients' poorer locoregional recurrence free survival (LRRFS). Poorer ECOG PS, higher EBV-DNA, later T stage, later clinical stage, and higher PIV were associated with patients' poorer distant metastasis free survival (DMFS). Multivariate analysis demonstrated that PIV was an independent prognostic index for OS (HR 2.231, 95 % CI 1.241-4.011, P = 0.007), PFS (HR 1.664, 95 % CI 1.003-2.760, P = 0.049), and DMFS(HR 2.081, 95 % CI 1.071-4.044, P = 0.031). Nomogram C-indexes for the nomogram of OS were 0.684, and PFS were 0.62, respectively. Survival predictions and actual survival were consistent according to the calibration curve. Conclusions: Pre-treatment PIV is a promising biomarker for predicting survival in patients with NPC.

BACKGROUND: Cytokines have been presumed to play an important role in the pathophysiology of functional dyspepsia (FD). Electroacupuncture (EA) has been used for FD treatment; however, its mechanisms remain largely unknown. This study aimed to (1) compare the plasma levels of cytokines, including tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, interleukin (IL)-1ß, IL-6, and IL-10, in "FD" rats with normal control rats; (2) investigate whether EA, using chronically implanted electrodes, could inhibit the release of these cytokines; and (3) explore the correlation of cytokine levels with plasma norepinephrine (NE) levels and gastric emptying (GE). METHODS: A rodent model of FD was established via neonatal treatment with intragastric iodoacetamide. After 8 weeks, the rats were implanted with electrodes at acupoint ST36 for EA. The plasma levels of cytokines and NE were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. We explored the correlations of cytokine levels with NE levels and GE. KEY RESULTS: (i) "FD" rats demonstrated increased levels of TNF-α, IL-1ß, and IL-6 (p < 0.05 each) compared with the control rats. (ii) EA significantly decreased the plasma levels of TNF-α, IL-1ß, and IL-6 in "FD" rats (p < 0.05 each) compared with sham EA. (iii) The plasma levels of NE were positively correlated with those of IL-6 (r = 0.86, p < 0.05) and IL-1ß (r = 0.81, p < 0.05), whereas NE levels and GE were negatively correlated with IL-10 levels (r = -0.870, p < 0.05 and r = -0.791, p < 0.05, respectively). CONCLUSIONS: EA inhibits the release of proinflammatory cytokines probably via the suppression of sympathetic activity in "FD" rats.

Phase stability and the phase transition of Janus transition metal chalcogenides (TMDs) have become interesting issues that have not been fully resolved since their successful synthesis. By fitting the results from first principles calculations, a tight-binding dynamics matrix of the 1T' phase is constructed and the eigenvectors are also obtained. We propose a method to project the atomic motion causing the phase transition from 2H to 1T' onto these eigenvectors, and identify four key phonon modes which are the major factors to trigger phase transition. Temperature excitation is used to excite the key modes and the free energy criterion is used to determine the phase stability. The relatively large enthalpy difference between the 2H and 1T' phases favours the 2H one as the stable phase at low temperature. While the 1T' phase has a quick increase in vibrational free energy with rising temperature, especially for 1T' Janus TMDs which have a quicker increase in the total free energy than that of 1T' non-Janus TMDs, making them show a lower phase transition temperature. Our work will deepen our understanding of the phase transition behavior of 2D Janus TMDs, and the tight-binding dynamics matrix and the method to obtain the key modes will be a useful tool for further study of the phase transitions of 2D Janus TMDs and other related materials.

There is mounting evidence that malnutrition and systemic inflammation status are involved in the prognosis of various cancers. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the prognostic value of the pretreatment fibrinogen-albumin ratio index (FARI) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients receiving definite radiotherapy. NPC patients who received definite radiotherapy between January 2013 and December 2019 were included. A receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to determine the optimal cutoff value. The clinicopathological characteristics of the patients were compared via the Chi-square test. Survival curves were analyzed by the Kaplan‒Meier method. The prognostic factors were evaluated by univariate and multivariate analyses via Cox hazards regression analysis. A total of 225 patients were enrolled, and the median follow-up time was 48.5 months. High FARI was correlated with worse ECOG score (p = 0.003), higher EBV-DNA titer (p = 0.047), and more advanced clinical stage (p < 0.001). In the multivariable analysis, FARI independently predicted OS (HR 2.399, 95% CI 1.294-4.450, P < 0.001), PFS (HR 2.085, 95% CI 1.200-3.625, P = 0.009), and DMFS (HR 2.527, 95% CI 1.288-4.958, P < 0.001). The current findings suggest that a high pretreatment FARI is an independent predictor of OS, PFS and DMFS in NPC patients undergoing definite radiotherapy.

Photothermal catalysis is a promising method for selectively oxidizing organic compounds, effectively addressing the energy-intensive and low-selective processes of thermal catalysis, as well as the slow reaction rates of photocatalysis. In this study, a ternary photothermal catalyst, Ni/CeO2/CdS, was synthesized using a simple calcination and solvothermal method. The catalyst demonstrated remarkable improvement in reaction rates and achieved nearly 100% selectivity in converting benzyl alcohol to benzaldehyde through photothermal catalysis at normal pressure. The reaction rates were 5.9 times and 63 times higher than those of CdS and Ni/CeO2 individually. XPS analysis confirmed that the thermal catalysis followed the Mars-Van Krevelen (MVK) mechanism and also proved that photocatalysis facilitated the MVK cycle. Additionally, DFT calculations showed that Ni acted as an electron transfer channel, facilitating efficient Z-scheme charge transfer. The in situ infrared technique was used to dynamically monitor the reaction process and explain the high selectivity of the product. Furthermore, detailed explanations of photocatalysis, thermocatalysis, and photothermal synergistic catalysis were proposed based on the aforementioned characterization and theoretical calculations. This approach establishes a theoretical foundation for the development of efficient photothermal catalysts.

The study aims to establish trimester-specific reference ranges for serum iodine (SI) in Chinese pregnant women and explore its associations with maternal and infantile thyroid function. Apparently healthy pregnant women were enrolled during their first antenatal visit. Fasting venous and spot urine samples were collected for determining serum and urinary iodine (UI) levels by a validated inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. Serum free triiodothyronine (FT3), free thyroxine (FT4), thyrotropin (TSH), and neonatal TSH levels were tested by electro-chemiluminescent assay. The reference ranges of SI were established by percentile method and reported as 2.5-97.5%. ROC analysis was applied to compare the discriminative ability of SI, UI, and UI to urinary creatine ratio (UI /UCr) in early pregnancy for various thyroid conditions. The trimester-specific reference ranges of SI for Chinese pregnant women were 60.91-114.53 µg/L for the first trimester (T1, n = 1029), 54.57-103.42 µg/L for the second trimester (T2, n = 379), and 52.03-110.40 µg/L for the third trimester (T3, n = 455). Maternal SI at T1 but not UI and UI/UCr was significantly correlated with FT3 (r = 0.393, P < 0.001), FT4 (r = 0.637, P < 0.001), and TSH (r = -0.299, P<0.001). Maternal SI change% from T1 to T2 (but not SI change% from T1 to T3) had marginal correlation with neonatal TSH (r=-0.106, P=0.046). ROC analysis showed that maternal SI at T1 had better predictability for several thyroid conditions than UIC and UI/UCr.

Integrating photocatalytic CO2 reduction with selective benzyl alcohol (BA) oxidation in one photoredox reaction system is a promising way for the simultaneous utilization of photogenerated electrons and holes. Herein, ZnmIn2S3+m (m = 1-5) semiconductors (ZnIn2S4, Zn2In2S5, Zn3In2S6, Zn4In2S7, and Zn5In2S8) with various composition faults were synthesized via a simple hydrothermal method and used for effective selective dehydrocoupling of benzyl alcohol into high-value C-C coupling products and reduction of CO2 into syngas under visible light. The absorption edge of ZnmIn2S3+m samples shifted to shorter wavelengths as the atomic ratio of Zn/In was increased. The conduction band and valence band position can be adjusted by changing the Zn/In ratio, resulting in controllable photoredox ability for selective BA oxidation and CO2 reduction. For example, the selectivity of benzaldehyde (BAD) product was reduced from 76% (ZnIn2S4, ZIS1) to 27% (Zn4In2S7, ZIS4), while the selectivity of hydrobenzoin (HB) was increased from 22% to 56%. Additionally, the H2 formation rate on ZIS1 (1.6 mmol/g/h) was 1.6 times higher than that of ZIS4 (1.0 mmol/g/h), and the CO formation rate on ZIS4 (0.32 mmol/g/h) was three times higher than that of ZIS1 (0.13 mmol/g/h), demonstrating that syngas with different H2/CO ratios can be obtained by controlling the Zn/In ratio in ZnmIn2S3+m. This study provides new insights into unveiling the relationship of structure-property of ZnmIn2S3+m layered crystals, which are valuable for implementation in a wide range of environment and energy applications.

This study aimed to explore the temporal associations between maternal serum iodine concentration (SIC) and common pregnancy outcomes in Chinese women. Eligible singleton pregnant women aged 20-34 years were selected, and their fasting blood samples were collected during early (T1, n = 1101) and mid-pregnancy (T2, n = 403) for SIC testing by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. Multivariable linear regression indicated that log10SIC at T1 (ß = -0.082), T2 (ß = -0.198), and their % change (ß = -0.131) were inversely associated with gestational weight gain (GWG, all p < 0.05). Maternal log10SIC at both T1 (ß = 0.077) and T2 (ß = 0.105) were positively associated with the Apgar score at 1 min (both p < 0.05). Women in the third quartile (Q3) of SIC at T1 had a lower risk of small for gestational age (SGA, OR = 0.405, 95% CI: 0.198-0.829) compared with those in Q4. Restricted cubic spline regression suggested a U-shaped association between SIC and SGA risk, and SIC above 94 µg/L at T1 was the starting point for an increased risk of SGA. The risk of premature rupture of membrane (PROM) increased by 96% (OR = 1.960, 95% CI: 1.010-3.804) in Q4 compared to that in Q1. Our longitudinal data from an iodine-replete region of China indicated that high maternal SIC could restrict GWG and improve Apgar scores at delivery, but might increase the risk of SGA and PROM.

In this study, we aimed to prospectively investigate the relationships between different types of dietary protein and changes in bone mass in Chinese middle-aged and elderly people. Dietary intakes were evaluated by means of a validated food frequency questionnaire. Bone mineral density (BMD) was measured using a dual-energy bone densitometer at multiple bone sites. Multivariable regression models were applied to investigate the associations of the participants' dietary intakes of total protein, intakes of protein from various sources, and amino acid intakes with the annualized changes in BMD during a 3-year follow-up. A total of 1987 participants aged 60.3 ± 4.9 years were included in the analyses. Multivariable linear regression results showed that dietary intakes of total protein, animal protein, and protein from white meat were positively correlated with BMD changes, with standardized coefficients (ß) of 0.104, 0.073, and 0.074 at the femur neck (p < 0.01) and 0.118, 0.067, and 0.067 at the trochanter (p < 0.01), respectively. With each increase of 0.1g·kg-1·d-1 in animal protein and white meat protein intakes, the BMD losses were reduced by 5.40 and 9.24 mg/cm2 at the femur neck (p < 0.05) and 1.11 and 1.84 mg/cm2 at the trochanter (p < 0.01), respectively. Our prospective data, obtained from Chinese adults, showed that dietary total and animal protein, especially protein from white meat, could significantly reduce bone loss at the femur neck and trochanter.

The efficacy and safety of first-line immune checkpoint inhibitors plus chemotherapy in the treatment of patients with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC) remains unevaluated, and there are no reports to directly compare the efficacy and safety among different immunotherapy (especially adebrelimab and surplulimab). Suitable phase III randomized controlled trials with two or more different arms were included. Independent reviewers screened and extracted relevant data and disagreements were resolved through consensus. Fixed-effect consistency models were used to calculate the overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), objective response rate, adverse events ≥ 3, and safety outcomes in the clinically relevant subgroups. In this network meta-analysis, six randomized controlled clinical trials (CAPSTONE-1, ASTRUM-005, CASPIAN, IMpower133, KEYNOTE-604, and an ipilimumab + chemotherapy trial) with totaling 3662 patients were involved. Compared to chemotherapy, immune checkpoint inhibitors plus chemotherapy present higher possibilities to bring about better OS and PFS. Serplulimab + chemotherapy significantly showed a better survival profit in comparison with ipilimumab + chemotherapy (0.67; 0.50-0.90). Compared with chemotherapy, adebrelimab + chemotherapy (0.72; 0,58-0.90), atezolizumab + chemotherapy (0.76; 0.60-0.96) durvalumab + chemotherapy (0.75; 0.62-0.91), and serplulimab + chemotherapy (0.63;0.49-0.82) all presented significantly better overall survival. In terms of progression-free survival, serplulimab + chemotherapy showed better efficacy in comparison with adebrelimab + chemotherapy (0.72; 0,53-0.97), atezolizumab + chemotherapy (0.62; 0.46-0.84), durvalumab + chemotherapy (0.60; 0.45-0.80). Compared with chemotherapy, adebrelimab + chemotherapy (0.67; 0.54-0.83) and serplulimab + chemotherapy (0.48; 0.48-0.86) all presented significantly better PFS. Immunotherapy plus chemotherapy had similar probabilities to cause adverse events of grade ≥ 3. In comparison with chemotherapy, immune checkpoint inhibitors plus chemotherapy were likely to be more suitable for the first-line treatment of ES-SCLC. According to our analysis, serplulimab plus chemotherapy and adebrelimab plus chemotherapy present higher possibilities to show better efficacy and safety, however, the level of evidence of this type of comparison is limited.

Objective: This study aims to compare the electrocardiogram (ECG) abnormalities and QT interval prolongation in 2,886 patients with viral hepatitis cirrhosis and 643 patients with alcoholic cirrhosis in order to understand the characteristics of ECG in patients with cirrhosis and provide information and evidence for clinical diagnosis and treatment. Methods: The ECG data of patients with viral hepatitis cirrhosis and alcoholic liver cirrhosis in the outpatients and inpatients of our hospital from August 2012 to July 2018 were reviewed. The ECG data were recorded, and the ECG report was issued by ECG experts to analyze the abnormal ECG and QT interval of patients in these two groups. Results: In the present study, 1,132 (39.22%) of the 2,886 patients with viral liver cirrhosis and 322 (50.08%) of the 643 patients with alcoholic liver cirrhosis had an abnormal ECG (P < 0.001). Among patients with QT prolongation, 388 patients had viral liver cirrhosis (13.44%) and 170 patients had alcoholic liver cirrhosis (26.44%, P < 0.001). Conclusion: The hemodynamics and electrophysiology of the myocardium are often changed in patients with cirrhosis, and ECG changes may also occur. QT interval prolongation is one of the most common electrophysiological abnormalities in patients with cirrhosis, and QT prolongation is more common in patients with alcoholic liver cirrhosis. Prolonged QT is associated with severe arrhythmia and sudden death and can warn of malignant arrhythmia and sudden death. Therefore, the routine detection of abnormal ECG and QT interval in patients with liver cirrhosis is of significant importance for preventing malignant events.

Objectives: This study aimed to explore the relationship of maternal thyroid function and thyroid resistance parameters with neonatal thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH). Methods: This work was a longitudinal study. Singleton pregnant women without a history of thyroid disorders were recruited in their first prenatal visit from October 2018 to June 2020. Maternal thyroid markers including TSH, free triiodothyronine (FT3), free thyroxine (FT4), and neonatal TSH were tested in the clinical laboratory of the hospital by electrochemiluminescence immunoassay. Thyroid resistance indices including Thyroid Feedback Quantile-based Index (TFQI), TSH index (TSHI), and thyrotroph T4 resistance index (TT4RI) were estimated in accordance with maternal FT4 and TSH levels. Multivariable linear and logistic regression was applied to explore the associations of maternal thyroid indices with infantile TSH level. Results: A total of 3,210 mothers and 2,991 newborns with valid TSH data were included for analysis. Multivariable linear regression indicated that maternal thyroid variables were significantly and positively associated with neonatal TSH levels with standardized coefficients of 0.085 for TSH, 0.102 for FT3, 0.100 for FT4, 0.076 for TSHI, 0.087 for TFQI, and 0.089 for TT4RI (all P < 0.001). Compared with the lowest quartile, the highest quartile of TSHI [odds ratio (OR) = 1.590, 95% CI: 0.928-2.724; Ptrend = 0.025], TFQI (OR = 1.746, 95% CI: 1.005-3.034; Ptrend = 0.016), and TT4RI (OR = 1.730, 95% CI: 1.021-2.934; Ptrend = 0.030) were significantly associated with an increased risk of elevated neonatal TSH (>5 mIU/L) in a dose-response manner. Conclusion: The longitudinal data demonstrated that maternal thyroid resistance indices and thyroid hormones in the first half of gestation were positively associated with neonatal TSH levels. The findings offered an additionally practical recommendation to improve the current screening algorithms for congenital hypothyroidism.

AIM: We aimed to develop a risk prediction model for gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) based on the common maternal demographics and routine clinical variables in Chinese population. METHODS: Individual information was collected from December 2018 to October 2019 by a pretested questionnaire on demographics, medical and family history, and lifestyle factors. Multivariable logistic regression was performed to establish a predictive model for GDM by variables in pre- and early pregnancy. The consistency and discriminative validity of the model were evaluated by Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness-of-fit testing and ROC curve analysis. Internal validation was appraised by fivefold cross-validation. Clinical utility was assessed by decision curve analysis. RESULTS: Total 3263 pregnant women were included with 17.2% prevalence of GDM. The model equation was: LogitP = -11.432 + 0.065 × maternal age (years) + 0.061 × pre-pregnancy BMI (kg/m2 ) + 0.055 × weight gain in early pregnancy (kg) + 0.872 × history of GDM + 0.336 × first-degree family history of diabetes +0.213 × sex hormone usages during pre- or early pregnancy + 1.089 × fasting glucose (mmol/L) + 0.409 × triglycerides (mmol/L) + 0.082 × white blood cell count (109/L) + 0.669 × positive urinary glucose. Homer-Lemeshow goodness-of-fit testing indicated a good consistency between predictive and actual data (p = 0.586). The area under the ROC curve (AUC) was 0.720 (95% CI: 0.697 ~ 0.744). Cross-validation suggested a good internal validity of the model. A nomogram has been made to establish an easy to use scoring system for clinical practice. CONCLUSIONS: The predictive model of GDM exhibited well acceptable predictive ability, discriminative performance, and clinical utilities. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to explore the diagnostic values of radial endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial lung biopsy with distance (rEBUS-D-TBLB) measurement and with guide sheath (rEBUS-GS-TBLB) for peripheral pulmonary lesions (PPLs) with a diameter ≥3 cm by thin bronchoscope. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Six hundred and three patients with PPL (diameter ≥3 cm) were enrolled in this study. The subjects were divided into the rEBUS-D-TBLB and rEBUS-GS-TBLB groups by the random number table method. Patients were assigned to undergo rEBUS-D-TBLB or rEBUS-GS-TBLB, respectively. The histopathology, positive diagnosis rates, duration of the procedure, and postoperative adverse effects between the two groups were examined. RESULTS: A total of 569 patients were included in this study according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, with 282 cases in the rEBUS-D-TBLB group and 287 cases in the rEBUS-GS-TBLB group. For malignant diseases, the positive diagnosis rates of PPL in the outer/inner-middle lung bands and the right-upper/-lower lung lobes by rEBUS-D-TBLB were noninferior to those of rEBUS-GS-TBLB. The duration of the procedure of rEBUS-D-TBLB was longer than that of rEBUS-GS-TBLB. There were 14 cases of hemorrhage >50 mL, 1 case of postoperative chest pain in the rEBUS-D-TBLB group, and 3 cases of hemorrhage >50 mL in the rEBUS-GS-TBLB group. CONCLUSION: REBUS-D-TBLB by thin bronchoscope has a high diagnostic value for PPL with a diameter ≥3 cm, which may be considered a useful alternative for rEBUS-GS-TBLB in the clinic.

Objective: To investigate the effect of Fu Yan Qing prescription on sequelae of pelvic inflammatory disease of accumulation of dampness heat and blood stasis type. Methods: Total 80 patients with sequelae of sequelae of pelvic inflammatory disease of accumulation of dampness heat and blood stasis type were admitted to Baoding No.1 Central Hospital from December, 2018 to April, 2020 and divided into two groups according to the random number table, with 40 cases in each group. Patients in the control group were treated with conventional western medicine, while patients in the observation group were treated with Fu Yan Qing prescription orally. The clinical efficacy, the changes of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndromes, local sign scores, visual analog scale (VAS) of pain, pelvic mass size, pelvic fluid volume and uterine blood flow parameters of the two groups before and after treatment were observed and compared, and the safety of the two groups was evaluated. Results: The total efficacy after treatment in the observation group was 87.5%, which was significantly higher than that of 67.5% in the control group (p<0.05). The TCM syndrome scores, local signs scores, pain scores, size of pelvic mass and pelvic effusion in both groups decreased significantly after treatment (p<0.05), PSV indexes of the two groups were significantly increased after treatment (p<0.05), and these changes were even more pronounced in the observation group (p<0.05). Compared with before treatment, PI and RI indexes of the observation group were significantly decreased after treatment (p<0.05). The observation group experienced an adverse reaction in 7.5% cases considerably lower than the 27.5% of the control group (p<0.05). Conclusion: Fu Yan Qing prescription is a safe and reliable treatment for patients with sequelae of pelvic inflammatory disease of accumulation of dampness heat and blood stasis type. It is worth promotion in clinical practice.
